CoAct and our members work with local councils to deliver community improvement projects. Here are two examples:
The Bundaberg Recycling and Collection Centre is managed by CoAct member IMPACT on behalf of Bundaberg Regional Council. Twenty-seven workers with disability are employed through the Department of Social Services' Australian Disability Enterprise initiative to work in the facility and are assisted by IMPACT workers to provide training and support both on and off the premises. The image above shows Cr Vince Habermann and Tim Van Kooten at the Material Recovery Facility.
Our member EnviTE Environment is working with Coffs Harbour City Council on two Green Army projects. The projects include a coastal corridor enhancement between Coffs Coast and Wooli and improvements to coastal access and environmental rehabilitation on the Solitary Islands Coastal Walk.
